About the Role:

As a Senior Business Engineer at Swiss Re, you will be a pivotal part of our data services team, focusing on our advanced cloud-based platform. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of the system for ongoing maintenance, enhancements, and to assist the risk management community effectively. You'll also engage in the continual improvement of the system, collaborating closely with Application/Data Engineers to design and develop new interfaces and functions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Capturing user requirements, analyzing them, and preparing user stories.
• Ensuring communication is maintained with our international user community.
• Participating in the internal testing of newly developed features, supporting user testing, and overseeing successful roll-outs to production.
• Maintaining up-to-date documentation.

About the Team:

Our dedicated team in Hyderabad, alongside you, manages a bespoke application used for analysis and reserves estimation. Serving the actuarial community within Swiss Re, we work closely with colleagues across Europe and Bangalore, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.

About You:

If you are a proactive individual with a curious mindset, eager to find creative solutions and improve our systems and services, this position is for you. Ideal candidates are results-driven and possess the following:

• Over 7 years' experience as a business analyst in data management.
• Strong foundation in data modelling and data architecture.
• Proficiency in SQL, with hands-on experience as a data architect/engineer.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (Azure DevOps, Azure Databricks, SQL Server, Synapse, Palantir) and programming in SQL and Python.
• Experience in agile and cross-cultural settings, and knowledge of SCRUM.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
• Fluent in both spoken and written English.

Nice-to-haves include experience in the financial services or (re)insurance industries, and familiarity with PowerBI.
