Responsibilities

• Enhance and improve the team's technical stack and infrastructure to develop unique features for the educational sector.
• Stay current with AI technology advancements, providing insights on adapting new methodologies and ideas.
• Perform hands-on technical tasks, including design, analytics/modeling, dataset development, and code reviews.
• Collaborate with Microsoft Research Teams to innovate on new and existing products.
• Foster a culture of inclusivity, continuous learning, and disciplined data and software engineering practices.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related field AND 1+ year of data science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques)
• OR Master's Degree in the aforementioned fields AND 3+ years of data science experience
• OR Bachelor's Degree in the aforementioned fields AND 5+ years of data science experience
• OR equivalent experience
• 2+ years in customer-facing roles, project delivery, professional services, or consulting.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security requirements, including passing the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 7+ years of data science experience OR equivalent experience
• 6+ years of industry experience in AI/ML (3+ years for PhD holders)
• Proven track record of shipping innovative AI-based products at scale
• Extensive knowledge and experience with LLM and modern AI methods
• Proficiency with Python and the AI ecosystem
• Strong problem-solving and creative thinking skills
• Ability to quickly and independently learn new technologies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Keen interest in the field of Education
• Publications in AI-related research are a plus
