About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic, individual contributor for the role of Senior Data Scientist to join our Insights and Analytics team. In this position, you will be responsible for delivering deep analytical insights to drive business success and productizing ML models to enhance product growth and customer satisfaction. Utilizing our suite of Azure Data products, you’ll develop robust solutions and collaborate with product leaders to integrate invaluable feedback, thereby enhancing the overall quality of our offerings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to tackle problems like text feedback analysis, customer/user segmentation, and regression analysis to understand trends and satisfaction drivers
  • Design experiments, analyze results, and produce actionable, trustworthy insights
  • Present findings and recommendations to key decision-makers across different management levels
  • Drive innovation leveraging Gen AI, Data Science, and Machine Learning to enhance customer engagement
  • Provide feedback to the engineering team to identify new business opportunities and product capabilities
  • Leverage Microsoft tools including Fabric and contribute to the design of major feature enhancements
  • Share industry knowledge through conferences, white papers, and blog posts
  • Research and maintain deep knowledge of AI industry trends, technologies, and advances

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) of data-science experience OR
  • Master's Degree in a related field AND 3+ years of data-science experience OR
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field AND 5+ years of data-science experience OR
  • Equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with data science, big data, and analytics in a business context
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements for this role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (Doctorate/Master's) in Data Science or related field with extensive data-science experience
  • Experience with product and service big data telemetry systems
  • Proven track record in Data Science, Machine Learning, and delivering impactful business results
  • Knowledge of applied statistics and mathematics
  • Experience with programming languages like R and/or Python
  • Familiarity with Gen AI and its applications for business innovation
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, visual, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams

Additional Information

The base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. Specific ranges apply for work locations within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, at USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
