WHY BOX NEEDS YOU As a Data Scientist at Box, you won't merely be conducting routine data analysis; you will be responsible for designing, creating, and deploying scalable, end-to-end data products. Your tasks will range from data pipeline architecture to applying advanced statistical methods and ML algorithms, directly helping to solve the company’s most crucial business challenges. You will be part of a cooperative team working to use AI-powered services to drive decision making across all Box departments. WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Collaboration: Work intimately with stakeholders across different departments including Product, E-Commerce, Marketing, and Sales to convert your intricate models into actionable business insights.
  • Data-Driven Solutions: Interact with Product Managers, Business Leaders, and Customer-facing Roles to brainstorm, identify, and implement data-driven solutions to meet urgent business requirements.
  • End-to-End Implementation: Supervise the entire process of data product development, from inception to deployment, ensuring alignment with Box’s goals and objectives.
  • A/B Testing and Experimentation: Along with Product Managers, design, conduct rigorous A/B tests, and experiments to progressively improve and optimize business procedures. Use data-driven insights to guide and inform future initiatives.
  • Feature Engineering: Collaboratively develop and design features with domain experts to create effective models tailored to the specific business issues at Box.
  • Model Development: Employ a range of machine learning algorithms and statistical techniques to construct high-performing predictive and prescriptive models.
WHO YOU ARE
  • An MS or PhD holder in a quantitative field like Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or comparable experience.
  • Have over a year of experience in a Data Scientist or Analyst role.
  • Have exceptional SQL skills and extensive experience with relational databases.
  • Proficient in Python or R for data manipulation, analysis, and modeling.
  • Experience with Scala is a plus.
  • Show the ability to design, develop, and launch data products from conception to production.
  • Possess outstanding communication skills with the capability of explicating complex technological concepts in a clear and precise manner.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
