Job Description

We are currently seeking a talented Senior Data Scientist to enhance our Risk Data team. In this critical role, you'll devise strategies to mitigate high-risk activities across Block's suite of products. Your efforts will help in shaping our global risk roadmap, enhancing our banking initiatives, and ensuring an outstanding seller experience through innovative risk solutions.

Your Impact

• Diagnose complex problems and craft data-driven solutions.
• Develop and oversee the integrity of data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Machine Learning teams to develop new products and optimize existing processes.
• Leverage machine learning tools to foster inventive solutions.
• Design executive-level presentations to communicate insights and recommendations to leadership.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Profound expertise in SQL, Python, and Looker.
• Substantial experience in project management and data-driven problem resolution.

• Demonstrated experience in risk management, ideally in finance or e-commerce sectors.

Compensation and Benefits

Block offers competitive salary packages that are locality-adjusted according to four geographic zones:

• Zone A: USD $142,000 - USD $213,000
• Zone B: USD $134,900 - USD $202,300
• Zone C: USD $127,800 - USD $191,600
• Zone D: USD $120,700 - USD $181,100
