What We Need 

This role is key to driving decision-making and delivering impactful insights on 2K sports titles to our liveops service team and studios. You will be responsible for applying advanced analytical techniques and generating deep player behavior dives to solve complex business issues related to gamer engagement and in-game economy. The successful candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and continuously changing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Apply sophisticated techniques to analyze extensive and complex datasets, extracting actionable insights in a commercial setting
  • Use your advanced analytical methods to identify patterns and causal relationships.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define business issues and form and test hypotheses
  • Independently extract and integrate data from multiple data sources to support analytical efforts
  • Drive the exploration and creative ways to use new measurement to assess changes in the game economy
  • Communicate conclusions to both technical and non-technical audiences across multiple teams
  • Provide thought-leadership on the team for junior members

What Skills Are Needed 

  • 5+ years of work experience in data science with a Master's or PhD degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering Sciences (or in another quantitative discipline)
  • 5+ years of professional experience with data scripting languages (SQL, python, R, etc.)
  • Deep understanding and experience using supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques
  • Solid understanding of causal inference methods
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proven track record of working across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to translate complex findings and results into a compelling narrative
  • Proven track record of dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Desirable

  • Experience working on video game-related AI/ML or data science projects, game design, or game economy balancing
  • Experience building econometric models
