Senior Data Scientist - NLP & Deep Learning

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with senior data scientists to understand and implement NLP and Deep Learning use cases relevant to our business.
• Critically analyze and evaluate existing NLP pipelines and models, identifying potential areas for enhancement.
• Propose and champion innovative ideas to optimize performance, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Participate in data exploration and analysis of large text datasets to identify patterns and trends.
• Assist with data pre-processing tasks such as text cleaning, normalization, and feature engineering.
• Implement and fine-tune pre-trained NLP models for tasks including text classification, sentiment analysis, and named entity recognition (NER) using libraries such as spaCy or NLTK.
• Take full ownership of model development and iterative improvement, leading the testing and refinement process.
• Evaluate model performance using appropriate metrics and effectively communicate findings through visualizations.
• Stay updated on advancements in NLP and Deep Learning and actively learn from senior team members.
• Contribute to the development and documentation of NLP pipelines and models.

Qualifications:

• Overall 8+ years of experience.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Linguistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5 years of experience in a Data Science role with a strong focus on NLP and Deep Learning concepts.
• Proficient programming skills in Python and familiarity with data manipulation libraries like Pandas.
• Basic knowledge of deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch is a plus.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to think critically and propose innovative solutions.
• Willingness to learn and grow in the field of NLP and Deep Learning.
• Confidence to take ownership of projects and lead improvement initiatives.
