We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to focus on pricing optimization and contribute toward innovative solutions through statistical and machine learning methods, all from our vibrant San Francisco office.

Role Based in San Francisco: A Hub for Innovation and Collaboration

This position will anchor you in our San Francisco location, adopting an office-centric hybrid schedule designed to balance in-person collaboration with remote flexibility. Expect to be on-site on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, with options to work remotely other days based on team requirements and project demands.

What You’ll Achieve

As a Senior Data Scientist in our Pay Area, Pricing, you will be tasked with:

  • Designing and executing experiments to refine pricing models and influence our product roadmap.
  • Developing statistical models to enhance decision-making and optimize pricing strategies.
  • Expanding our data warehouse capabilities to answer complex business questions.
  • Creating dynamic dashboards to monitor various pricing model performances.
  • Producing executive-level reports on changes and outcomes driven by pricing adjustments.
  • Guiding business decisions through robust, data-driven insights and storytelling.
  • Effectively communicating your findings across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Mentoring junior data scientists to cultivate a data-centric culture within Asana.

About You

Ideal candidates will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative field such as Math, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
  • At least 4 years of experience applying data science in a technical product environment, preferably with prior exposure to pricing projects.
  • Strong foundational knowledge in statistical methods, machine learning, and data handling technologies (e.g., Python, SQL, Spark).
  • Excellent communication skills, with a knack for presenting complex data in relatable terms.
  • The ability to not only work collaboratively within diverse teams but also to lead and mentor effectively.
