What is the role?

This is a full-time position, subordinate to the Manager of Search and Ads Analytics. Besides , you will also be entitled to a share package, an annual achievement bonus, and our that support you and your family as part of your total compensational package from Etsy. What is this team like at Etsy?

The role is a part of the Product Analysis group, which aids in propelling the success of product initiatives at Etsy. We collaborate with cross-functional colleagues during all stages of development. From identifying initial opportunities, refining the user experience, analyzing the effects of our initiatives, to pointing out areas of improvement. Ultimately, our team strengthens Etsy and helps to continuously enhance the Etsy experience!

This is a high profile position aiding the Etsy Ads initiative. The team enables sellers to broaden their business through on-site promotion, while also meeting the expectations of buyers regarding relevance to assist their purchasing decision.

What is the day-to-day like?

• Lead all analytical facets of the product lifecycle, from sizing opportunities to measuring success through experimentation.
• Cooperate closely and creatively with senior management within Etsy Ads to develop a well-structured analytics roadmap.
• Define performance metrics for robust assessment of product efficiency.

Qualifications

Qualities needed for success in this role are:

• A minimum of 4 years of experience as a data scientist or data analyst where you have autonomously extracted significance from large datasets with limited engineering aid.
• Proficiency in both English and Spanish.
• A successful history guiding product teams to identify impactful opportunities, establish meaningful goals against key results, and decision-making based on data. Experience working in a two-sided marketplace setting and/or in fulfillment/logistics is preferred.
• Master of SQL and proficient in R/Python. Interested in adopting new methods to advance your technical skills. Bonus points for experience with Hadoop ecosystem and Looker, Tableau or other data visualization software.
• Experience designing and analyzing online experiments with a good understanding of A/B testing.
• Ability to implement complex analysis, using advanced statistical methods (ex. Propensity Score Matching, Causal Impact, Regression Models) in your work regularly.
• Comfortability with breaking down intricate insights into comprehensible narratives for senior executives, both verbally and visually.
