Position Overview

We are seeking a talented Senior Data Scientist to further enhance our efforts. You will collaborate with engineering and product teams to critically evaluate the current routing experience and implement product enhancements that improve customer satisfaction.

In this role, you will have access to extensive data from millions of daily route requests and actual driving patterns. Utilizing this data, you will identify optimization opportunities, design and analyze online experiments, and make data-driven decisions. The ideal candidate will apply strong business acumen to propose product changes, develop end-to-end technical solutions, and thrive in a highly cross-functional team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive high-impact projects and innovate new solutions for the best routing experience.
  • Analyze rides, understand driver pain points, prioritize and size feature requests, and help establish a business-centered roadmap and architecture.
  • Leverage data and analytical frameworks to identify growth and efficiency opportunities.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, marketers, designers, and operators to convert data insights into actionable decisions and experiments.
  • Develop analytical frameworks and models to monitor business and product performance.
  • Establish metrics to measure product health, business performance, and customer experience.
  • Manage, influence, negotiate, mentor, and inspire in a fast-moving environment.
  • Build tools and dashboards to provide visibility to other teams.

Required Experience

  • Degree in statistics, economics, applied math, operations research, engineering, or relevant work experience (advanced degrees preferred).
  • 4+ years of industry experience in data science, analytics, or management consulting.
  • Extensive experience with SQL and Python.
  • Hands-on experience with big data processing and distributed data pipelines using tools like Apache Airflow and Spark.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior experience in navigation systems or maps.
  • Proven ability to work well in an international environment with a diverse group of engineers across different locations (Munich, Minsk, Kyiv, Seattle, San Francisco, New York).

Work Schedule

This role will be hybrid in-office based in Munich, with team members expected to work in the office three days per week (Monday, Thursday, and a team-specific third day). Additionally, there is the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to four weeks per year.
