As a Senior Data Scientist, you will tackle challenging problems by leveraging Machine Learning and Deep Learning Techniques to generate tangible and immediate business impacts. About the Team: Market Intelligence (MINT)

The Market Intelligence (MINT) team at Walmart Labs promises EDLP (Every Day Low Prices) to our customers. We generate actionable insights for pricing, assortment, and marketing optimization for our stores and e-commerce business across geographies utilizing market intelligence. Our systems leverage cutting-edge open-source technologies.

Your Responsibilities:

• Analytical Modeling: Use feature relevance and selection, exploratory data analysis methods, advanced statistical methods, and advanced modeling techniques like graphical models, Bayesian inference, NLP, Computer Vision, neural networks, SVM, and Random Forest.
• Deep Learning: Expertise in fine-tuning Large Language Models and Vision Models, and experience with model compression methods like distillation and quantization.
• Model Assessment & Validation: Employ techniques like Chi square, ROC curve, root mean square error for model fit testing, tuning, and validation.
• Model Deployment & Scaling: Understand the impact of variables on model performance and knowledge of servers and model formats.
• Data Visualization: Generate appropriate graphical data representations and support understanding of customer requirements, presenting insights to influence the team.

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree with 4+ years of relevant experience OR PhD with 2+ years of relevant experience in Computer Science, Statistics, Information Technology, Operations Research, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Hands-on experience in Large Language Models, Generative AI, NLP, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning techniques.
• Experience with open-source frameworks and packages like scikit-learn, Numpy, Pandas, matplotlib, and Pytorch/Tensorflow.
• Knowledge in experimental design and A/B testing.
