About the Role: Senior Data Scientist, Systems Engineering at Zipline

We are excited to add a passionate Senior Data Scientist to our Systems Engineering team, dedicated to unlocking insights from vast data pools collected by our autonomous aircraft. This role is pivotal in enhancing our understanding of airspace dynamics and helping to drive organizational decisions through data. Key Responsibilities

You will lead efforts to:

• Integrate and analyze diverse data sets to enhance our understanding of urban low altitude airspace.
• Develop benchmarks and key performance metrics to guide design improvements and risk assessments.
• Create powerful visualizations to articulate data insights clearly and effectively.
• Work closely with our data engineering team to streamline and improve data collection and analysis processes.
• Utilize feedback from systems engineering teams to develop and oversee a strategic roadmap for ongoing data projects.

What You'll Bring

Preferred qualifications include:

• Advanced proficiency in Python and key libraries (Pandas, Numpy, Scipy, Matplotlib).
• Strong capabilities in geospatial data analysis using tools like GDAL or PostGIS.
• Experience in statistical modeling and applied mathematics.
• Proven ability in translating complex datasets into actionable insights.
• Background in aerospace, robotics, or related fields.
• Excellent prioritization skills for handling multiple high-stakes projects.
• Solid foundational knowledge in aviation or related areas.

Nice to have: Experience with Databricks, PySpark, and CI/CD methodologies.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting salary range for this role is $160,000 - $190,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Zipline offers a comprehensive benefits package including equity compensation, bonuses, health benefits, and more.
