About the Role
At BMO Financial Group, we are seeking a skilled Senior Finance Data Analyst to foster a culture where data is treated as a valuable corporate asset. This position involves compiling and analyzing financial information related to loans and commercial banking for SAMU, and accurately recording monthly and quarterly allowance and Provision for Credit loss reports.
The role also includes identifying trends and developments for Lines of Business (LOBs) and presenting findings to senior management, supporting financial forecasting, and performing data reconciliation of internal accounts. The analyst will adhere to data governance standards and processes to enhance data quality and mitigate data risks within the designated business group.
Additional responsibilities include developing and implementing data strategies, designing and reviewing data governance practices, and aligning these with the Enterprise Data Governance Operating Directive.
Responsibilities
- Lead routine monthly financial management reporting and handle ad-hoc report requests.
- Support the forecasting process by gathering and analyzing various data sets, trends, and performance metrics.
- Identify business trends and risks to enhance forecasting accuracy.
- Partner with the organization to provide monthly rolling forecasts and high-level leadership presentations.
- Develop scalable processes and systems for high-quality execution.
- Ensure accurate reporting and analysis by thoroughly understanding the issues or questions at hand.
- Maintain technical knowledge of accounting and financial analysis processes.
- Monitor and report on data management requirements, compliance issues, and resolutions.
- Act as a trusted advisor on data governance and management matters.
- Provide solutions based on analysis and business implications.
- Identify emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.
- Support assessment and root cause analysis efforts, formulating proposed solutions and remediation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with Bank and regulatory requirements in managing data.
- Develop stakeholder communications and training to support data management process implementation.
- Coordinate stakeholders to resolve data issues.
- Perform quality assurance to ensure data handling, storage, and collection comply with policy and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze data to support the design of a curated data model for the business/group.
- Participate in resolving operating/technical problems with other BMO technical support groups.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Data/Computer Science (preferred).
- 5-7 years of relevant experience as a Data Analyst within the Finance domain.
- Skilled in SAP S/4 HANA, SQL, APMS, LoanIQ, and MS Excel.
- Proficiency in financial reconciliation, financial management & reporting, data analysis of large data sets, and data governance.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $74,800.00 - $138,600.00 (Salaried)
Salaries will vary based on location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications. Part-time roles and commission structures will affect the pay scale.
