Your Role
As a Senior Lecturer, you will contribute significantly to teaching and research within your field of expertise. Key responsibilities include:
- Teaching undergraduate, Masters, and Graduate Diploma programs
- Maintaining and advancing scholarly, research, and professional capabilities
- Establishing and maintaining links and partnerships with academic, industry, and professional communities
- Collaborating with colleagues and students to update them on developments in your subject area
- Course coordination duties
Reporting Line
The Senior Lecturer reports to the Senior Program Manager, Information Technology & Software Engineering.
Key Accountabilities
- Independently teach undergraduate courses in the Bachelor of Information Technology program
- Design and deliver high-quality course materials and assessments
- Undertake administrative duties and course coordination roles
- Meet the requirements of the Academic Expectations and Development Framework of RMIT Vietnam
Key Selection Criteria
- PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related disciplines
- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in English-speaking universities
- Proficiency in teaching and curriculum development in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Java, and Web Programming
- Ability to prepare and deliver undergraduate-level programs, including online delivery
- Course coordination experience
- Proven ability to engage with students and address learning-related issues
- Strong track record of research outputs in high-quality journals
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams to achieve strategic outcomes
- Ability to effectively collaborate with external partners and communities
English Proficiency Requirement
English is the language of instruction at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, a minimum IELTS (Academic) score of 7.0 with no component less than 6.5 (or equivalent) is required. English proficiency may also be demonstrated by completing a PhD in English or teaching in an English-speaking environment within the last 24 months.
Work Permit
Foreign employees must comply with Vietnam’s visa and work permit requirements. RMIT Vietnam adheres to all immigration laws and expects all staff to do the same.
