Galway Office 

Rent The Runway launched its European Technology Hub in Galway in April 2019.  Situated in the historic Claddagh area of the city, the expanding team in Galway addresses core technology challenges and influences the next generation of Rent The Runway's services that are essential to its continued success and growth. This is Rent the Runway's first international office outside the US and enables the company to substantially expand its Software Engineering, Product Development, Machine Learning Engineering and Data Science operations. Rent The Runway's Galway-based employees have the opportunity to advance their careers across various roles and career paths in Technology. About the Role:

Machine Learning Engineers at Rent the Runway develop data products that notably impact our customer experience and internal operations. You will single-handedly manage projects from start to finish, starting from discerning which problems to address, utilizing information from our extensive data ecosystem for insightful conclusions, ultimately building & integrating algorithms into our network of services in collaboration with our product & software engineering teams. You will have the opportunity to influence all aspects of our business: from deciding what inventory assortment to purchase, optimizing the lifespan of that inventory, setting up an optimal network of warehouses & transportation channels to best serve our customers, personalizing the user experience, improving user acquisition & retention, researching ways to enhance customer service by providing correct information at the right time, to optimally pricing clothing rentals and sales and forecasting demand. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Work in a team of equals in an environment that will constantly challenge you and foster continuous learning.
  • Create and implement robust algorithms that power critical customer-facing applications, crucial to our business and success.
  • Collaborate closely in a balanced partnership with our business, product, and engineering teams.
  • Significantly contribute to what you work on and how the work is performed.

About You:

  • Over 5 years of experience building data products, preferably with Python, and incorporating them into internal and customer-facing applications in production environments. Bonus points if you have: built & managed services using AWS, GCP; deployed & maintained productive deep learning models using frameworks such as Tensorflow, , Keras in a business environment.
  • Willingness and ability to oversee your project from start to finish, including data exploration and analysis, modelling, experimentation, production implementation, monitoring, and communication with stakeholders. 
  • Experience in transforming unclear problems into algorithmic solutions.
  • A desire to drive substantial business impact and a bias towards action. You prefer to move quickly, you're reliable, and you take accountability for the results. 
  • An owner's mindset. You find no job too large or too small and always aim to improve from where you started.
  • An inherent curiosity and an open mind.
