Role Overview:

The Senior Machine Learning Engineer II at Cruise will drive critical developments in autonomous vehicle (AV) trajectory selection through Applied Machine Learning research and methodologies. This key role involves crafting globally-adaptive prediction algorithms, generating and optimizing trajectories, and refining machine learning models to ensure on-road effectiveness of our AVs in dynamic urban environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and prototype new algorithms for real-time AV decision processes.
  • Optimize and refine machine learning models from development to production.
  • Contribute to strategic technology decisions that influence operational outcomes.
  • Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams to integrate diverse systems and data sources.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in CS, CE, EE, or related fields, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven expertise in ML frameworks like TensorFlow, Caffe, PyTorch.
  • Strong proficiency in Python or C++ and excellent mathematical reasoning abilities.
  • A robust passion for advancing self-driving car technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in Machine Learning or Computer Science.
  • Experience with autonomous driving technology and real-world model deployment.
  • Familiarity with ROS, OpenCV, Gazebo, CUDA.

Compensation and Benefits:
