About the Role: Senior Machine Learning Engineer - ML Platform

Your Impact: As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer II in Samsara's ML Infrastructure team, your expertise will pave the way for innovating ML applications that bolster our various product pillars. This role demands a synergistic collaboration with multiple engineering teams across ML, full-stack, firmware, and other cross-functional areas to deliver essential services and infrastructure enhancements.

Role Responsibilities:

Your day-to-day tasks will include developing scalable ML infrastructure, utilizing Ray and Kubernetes for efficient model training and deployment, and ensuring robust monitoring and management systems are in place. You will also actively collaborate with data scientists to optimize performance and champion Samsara’s culture of growth and inclusivity.

Minimum Requirements:

Candidates should have a BS or MS in Computer Science (or related field), accompanied by at least 6 years of experience in machine learning engineering roles. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala and familiarity with ML tools and best practices are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will possess a Ph.D. in a quantitative discipline, deep expertise with Ray, Kubernetes, and Docker, and a solid foundation in DevOps/SRE principles.
