Your Role as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Located in the thriving area of McLean, Virginia, we at Capital One are excited to offer an opportunity for a driven and experienced Senior Machine Learning Engineer to bolster our tech-driven approach with Python, PySpark, and SQL expertise. Be part of our Agile team dedicated to productizing machine learning applications and systems at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deploy ML models and components to address and solve business problems in collaboration with Product and Data Science teams.
• Manage the model development process from ideation to deployment, including data selection, training, and validation.
• Maintain high standards in model performance by ensuring rigorous test automation and deployment protocols.
• Build data pipelines and ML systems on cloud architectures, operating across multiple platforms to optimize scalability and efficiency.
• Consistently update and maintain model efficiency in production setups.

Who You Are:

• You hold a Bachelor’s degree and possess strong programming skills with at least 4 years of experience in Python, Scala, or Java.
• You have demonstrated at least 3 years of experience in designing and building data-intensive applications utilizing distributed computing techniques.
• A minimum of 1-year experience in productionizing, monitoring, and managing machine learning models.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced experience in ML system design, including building and optimizing data pipelines and ML computational strategies.
• Proficiency in deploying ML solutions on public clouds like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• An advanced degree in CS, engineering, mathematics, or related fields and contributing to open source ML software is highly regarded.

What We Offer:

Capital One is committed to offering highly competitive rewards, including a salary that truly reflects your experience and potential. For this role, the salary ranges from $165,100 to $188,500 based on the New York City hybrid on-site model. Salaries in other locations will vary.
