Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA), an employee-owned international research and engineering company, is actively seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer with expertise in physics-informed machine learning models. This full-time position is based at our Cypress, CA office and offers a competitive salary range of $135,000 - $145,000, reflective of skills and experience.

Role Overview:

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at ARA, you will lead efforts in researching and developing algorithms capable of tackling complex problems in domains such as electromagnetics, fluid dynamics, and signal processing. Your primary responsibilities will include the design, development, and implementation of scalable machine learning solutions that incorporate rigorous physical models.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research and develop physics-informed machine learning algorithms.
• Optimize and scale existing algorithms for advanced computational sciences.
• Design and manage robust data pipelines for big data analytics.
• Engage in R&D business development activities, prepare technical proposals and documentation.
• Collaborate with a team of skilled scientists and engineers to solve interdisciplinary challenges.

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related STEM field with over 7 years of relevant experience.
• Proven track record in developing and deploying sophisticated machine learning models.
• Extensive programming skills in Python and familiarity with AI/ML libraries such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• Experience with large-scale data systems and GPU-enabled machine learning technologies.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.

Preferred Experience:

• Master’s degree with 5+ years of specialized experience in AI/ML.
• Experience with Linux systems, parallel processing, and high-performance computing.
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to research proposals.
