Job Overview

PayPal is on the lookout for a skilled Machine Learning Scientist to become part of our Global Machine Learning team. This role involves designing and developing AI-driven solutions to enhance PayPal services, including our popular platforms such as Venmo and PayPal itself. You will be pivotal in revolutionizing the customer journey through tailored, engaging experiences.

What You'll Do

Your daily responsibilities will include:

• Developing and implementing sophisticated ML models, like graph neural networks and deep learning models, to address crucial business challenges, especially in enhancing PayPal product recommendations and personalizing user experiences.
• Designing and deploying scalable generative AI and ML/AI solutions to bolster PayPal’s capability in offering a frictionless customer experience in collaboration with our engineering teams and Platform organization.
• Effectively communicating complex model results and analysis to both technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive influential decisions.

What We Need From You

To thrive in this role, you should have:

• A Master’s degree or higher in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering, complemented by at least 3 years of relevant industry experience (or a PhD with 2+ years of experience).
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python, SQL and familiarity with ML frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch. Experience with GCP/Hadoop or other big data technologies is advantageous.
• A proven track record in leading ML projects and delivering solutions with precision and efficiency.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Salary and Benefits

PayPal is committed to fair and equitable compensation. The expected salary range for this role is $84,500 to $204,600 annually, depending on your location and experience.
