Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Power BI Analyst/Developer to form part of the Business Analytics team within our Operations Business Performance department. The main aim of the role will be to support the creation and development of a range of reports, dashboards, and data extracts to provide the business with timely, actionable analysis to guarantee commercial success. Additionally, it will involve tracking and reporting progress towards our company goals through key performance indicators (KPIs). This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly formed and growing team.
 

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance a suite of management reports, predominantly in Power BI, to support efficient business administration
  • Utilize the full range of Power Platform capabilities to identify, monitor, and share key performance metrics in a secure, effective, and efficient manner
  • Create impactful visualizations to track key performance metrics, ensuring that users can comprehend and act on the information presented
  • Adopt best practices for managing our datasets, tools, and processes from the initial source to stakeholder delivery, implementing changes to measure our performance more efficiently
  • Maintain, refresh, and enhance internal data sources
  • Uphold service quality by establishing and enforcing Wood Mackenzie standards
  • Keep professional and technical knowledge up to date with current best practices
  • Contribute towards achieving team goals by delivering substantial results

General

  • Act as a primary contact for any data or reporting queries
  • Ensure data quality throughout its lifecycle for accuracy and effectiveness
  • Offer daily support to key stakeholders, understand issues and requirements, ensuring quick and high-quality responses
  • Develop and maintain documentation for clear understanding of processes
  • Assure actions and tasks are completed on schedule and to a high standard
  • Ensure any delays or issues are reported and necessary escalations are made
  • Maintain quality and accuracy in all work done
  • Be proactive in identifying key stakeholder needs

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience in a similar role
  • Appropriate Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent blend of education and experience
  • Advanced expertise in MS Power Platform, particularly in Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate
  • Experience with DAX calculations and measures
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (power query, data models, etc.)
  • Fundamental knowledge of SQL, R and/or Python is beneficial but not obligatory

Additional Information

  • We are a hybrid working company, and the successful candidate will be expected to be physically present in the office at least 2 days per week to contribute to a collaborative environment, although this may be subject to change in the future
  • Given the global nature of the team, a level of flexibility will be required to accommodate different time zones
