Job Description

We invite you to apply your knowledge of BIM in network design to create 2D drawings, 3D models, and coordinated BIM models. In this role, you will be responsible for your own technical work as well as that of fellow CAD technicians. Success in this role demands a solid understanding of design software like AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Navisworks. You will join our Water department

As our new Senior Principal Designer – Water, REC, you will work with a global team of specialized water consultants to help build sustainable societies. As a BIM/CAD Lead, you will provide drafting support and technical expertise within multi-disciplinary project teams, focusing on compliance with project objectives and quality standards.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:

1. Creating detailed drawings for a range of projects, developing 2D drawings, 3D models and supporting other members of the drafting team with complex tasks.
2. Assisting in the creation of a BIM execution plan or CAD standard manual for the project.
3. Coordinating with project managers and/or engineers for drafting work within a given project.
4. Mentoring fellow CAD technicians by updating them on advancements in BIM authoring software and CAD standards.
5. Supporting the Team Leader in standardizing CAD/BIM standards and fostering an environment of automation and development within the team.
6. Assisting with training/knowledge sharing within the team and across teams within the Water Department.
7. Ensuring the technical correctness and timely delivery of drawings and documents.
8. Following CAD/BIM standards of respective countries/projects and updating them regularly based on project experience.
9. Exhibiting self-discipline and work ethics.
10. Adhering to company policies and procedures.

1. Diploma in Civil Engineering or ITI trained professional with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience.
2. Deep understanding of AutoCAD and Civil 3D is essential.
3. Experience in preparing general arrangement drawings, plans, profiles, and layouts, setting out drawings of water supply, wastewater, and storm water drainage networks, and creating 3D models of pipe networks/underground utilities is necessary.
4. Personal motivation, team participation, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
5. Flexible attitude, reliability in meeting deadlines in a frequently changing environment, commitment to work and personal development, and a willingness to broaden experience.
6. Knowledge of Microsoft applications.
7. Competent level of written and spoken English.

Qualifications

Qualification: Diploma in Civil Engineering

Mandatory Skills Required: Knowledge of 3D modeling in Civil 3D (Revit is desirable)

Software Skills: AutoCAD Civil 3D, Navisworks, ArcGIS

Experience: 10-15 years
