About the Role
As a Senior Software Developer, you will play an integral role in our Scrum/DevOps team, where your primary focus will be on analyzing, developing, testing, and supporting sophisticated software applications. These applications are built on a Big Data framework tailored to meet business objectives effectively. By leveraging Agile methodologies, you will collaborate with fellow team members to develop and implement high-quality software solutions that align with project goals and business needs.
Responsibilities
Here's what you'll be working on:
- Designing, building, and testing scalable and cost-effective software solutions for both cloud environments and on-premises.
- Creating reusable components and systems that can be utilized across multiple projects, enhancing efficiency and uniformity.
- Engaging in full lifecycle development, from conception through testing and deployment, optimizing for performance and maintainability.
- Developing integration support and rapid prototypes to validate new technologies quickly.
- Collaborating with Data Science teams and Product Owners to convert complex requirements into reliable technical solutions.
- Staying ahead of technology trends and contributing insights to internal team discussions and strategy sessions.
- Mentoring junior developers, fostering an environment of growth and continuous learning.
Key Skills
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field coupled with 4-8 years of relevant IT solution development experience.
- Proven expertise in cloud architectures and implementation features (service discovery, circuit breakers, microservices, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with Big Data applications using Apache Spark, and Cloud services (preferably AWS technologies).
- Proficiency in programming languages and tools such as Java or Scala, Presto/Hive, Docker, and GitLab.
- Solid understanding of service-oriented architecture and agile methodologies.
Desirable:
- AWS certification.
- Advanced analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Exceptional communication and mentorship skills.
