About the Role

We are searching for a talented Software Engineer with a profound interest in Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to become an integral part of Wise’s Machine Learning Platform team. This team is dedicated to enhancing our strong Machine Learning and Data Science capabilities by maintaining a platform that facilitates the seamless transition of ideas to production, utilizes cutting-edge technologies, and remains accessible to our organization.

As a pivotal member of our team, you’ll collaborate directly with other departments to integrate innovative ML/AI solutions into Wise’s products and services, from Large Language Models to traditional ML applications. Your efforts will not only contribute to enhancing our Machine Learning Platform but will also provide critical insights to continually elevate the user experience for our internal teams.

As part of a leading international Financial Services company, our responsibility extends to ensuring the security of our customers’ money and data. The role you will play within the Machine Learning Platform team is crucial in aiding our professionals to engage with AI securely, upholding the highest standards of practice.

Who We Are Looking For

While we value the skills listed below, we are primarily interested in individuals who are passionate about what we do and eager to grow and learn:

• Experience in Software Engineering, especially in backend and data-intensive environments.
• Current knowledge of SWE best practices, robust testing methods, and a commitment to high-quality documentation.
• Proficiency in one or several programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• A solid understanding of distributed systems design and development.
• A keen interest in Machine Learning, Large Language Models, Prompt Engineering, and their practical applications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice to have:

• Previous experience in developing self-service tools for engineers, data scientists, or analysts.
• Interest or background in payment platforms, foreign exchange, and highly complex systems.
• Being a Wise customer.
