We're seeking a dynamic Data Scientist to join a burgeoning Product Analytics team at Xpanse, the newest division of Palo Alto Networks Cortex.

Xpanse secures some of the world’s largest organizations from malicious software and cyber attackers. Our global collections structure offers the most detailed perspective of the public Internet's device layer. In this role, you will gain access to the unique data that we collect and monitor continuously. You will discover essential cybersecurity insights to protect customers in datasets ranging in size from gigs to petabytes.

Your Impact

  • Provide directional guidance for the product through user analytics data
  • Partner across teams to comprehend different stakeholders, assess internal analytics tool usage, and extract new value from our data
  • Measure the success of initiatives, projects, and product features using different data sources
  • Investigate and analyze our internal data for cybersecurity insights relevant to our present or potential customers
  • Create prototypes that provide data insights for customers and assist in their operationalization
  • Innovate new techniques, technologies, and understandings of the Internet: on this team, the entire Internet is our playground

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • Degree in a quantitative or technical field like Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field, or equivalent military experience is essential
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and database operations
  • Software development or systems experience is preferred but not compulsory
  • A background in collaborative research, collaborative code development, or previous data work
  • Ability (and enthusiasm) to take on ambiguous projects and develop new solutions
  • Curiosity - you ask questions and want to comprehend the reasons 'why'

Additional Information

The Team

Our analytics team lies at the heart of all data activity at Xpanse. Our analysts support all departments via our contributions in AI (for instance building internal tools and assessing AI feature usage), Modeling and Forecasting (like customer account health models), Experimentation, Segmentation and Clustering, and User Behavior Reporting. We need individuals who are comfortable amidst ambiguity, excited by the prospect of a challenge, and powered by the unknown risks facing our everyday lives that are only enabled by a secure digital environment.

Our Commitment

We’re pioneers that dream big, take risks, and challenge the status quo of cybersecurity. It’s simple: our mission cannot be achieved without diverse teams innovating, in unison.

We are committed to offering reasonable accommodations for all individuals with disabilities. If you require assistance or accommodation due to a disability or special need, please contact us at [email protected].
