We Are Hiring: Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer

We are looking for a talented and diverse Machine Learning Engineer to join our Maps ML team. This team plays a crucial role in providing real-time map data to the Aurora driver. As part of the team, you will:

  • Lead and collaborate with the Online Maps autonomy team to enhance and implement perception algorithms.
  • Research and develop state-of-the-art deep learning and machine learning models for diverse scenarios.
  • Develop novel verification and validation technologies and techniques.
  • Partner with online maps, simulation, and safety engineers to ensure robust mapping technology.
  • Build infrastructure and tests for crucial deployment decisions of the Aurora Driver.
  • Integrate, test, and deploy production-ready solutions into the Aurora Driver’s codebase.

Required Qualifications

  • Exceptional software engineering skills in Python and/or C++.
  • Extensive experience with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow.
  • Proven expertise in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, or relevant AI fields, supported by industry experience or a strong publication record.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Industry experience in self-driving vehicles, autonomy, or robotics projects.
  • Contributions to open-source projects.
  • Noteworthy track record in machine learning, validated by top-tier publications.
  • Relevant conference experience in fields like CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, ICML, NeurIPS, JMLR, RSS, SIGGRAPH, etc.

The base salary range for this position is $212,000-$340,000 annually. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location with starting pay based on factors like skills, experience, and market conditions. This range can be modified in the future. Successful candidates are also eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
