Job Description

As a Software Engineer II, Data Engineer within the CCB Cards Technology team, you will be a crucial member of our high-performing team. Your role will involve enhancing, building, and delivering data collection, storage, access, and analytics solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Use your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to make a significant business impact and meet diverse challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and troubleshoot software solutions with innovative approaches.
  • Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain synchronized algorithms.
  • Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring compliance with design constraints.
  • Analyze large, diverse data sets to develop visualizations and reports for continuous software improvement.
  • Design and deliver trusted data platform solutions for collection, storage, access, and analytics.
  • Define database backup, recovery, and archiving strategies.
  • Develop data pipelines to process data from various sources.
  • Identify hidden problems and patterns in data to drive system architecture improvements.
  • Contribute to software engineering communities and explore new technologies.
  • Promote a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering with 4+ years of applied experience.
  • Proficiency in AWS cloud technologies, including S3.
  • Experience with SQL-based technologies like MySQL or Oracle DB.
  • Proficiency in Java and Python programming languages.
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment.
  • Cloud implementation experience with AWS Data Services like Lake Formation, Glue ETL, and Athena.
  • Expertise in data de/serialization formats such as Parquet and AVRO.
  • Understanding of AWS data security concepts like Lake Formation, IAM, and Encryption.
  • Experience in statistical data analysis and appropriate tool selection.
  • Knowledge of software applications and technical processes within cloud, AI, and machine learning.
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Snowflake experience or knowledge.
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
  • Experience in building Data Lakes and Data Platforms.
