Position: Software Engineer II

As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within our Asset & Wealth Management division, you will be a key part of an agile team dedicated to enhancing, designing, and delivering software components for state-of-the-art technology products. Your work will ensure these products are secure, stable, and scalable.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute standard software solutions, encompassing design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
• Write secure, high-quality code, while maintaining the stability and resiliency of our BI platform on AWS.
• Work closely with consumers to ensure needs are met and gaps are prioritized.
• Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot with a focus on upstream and downstream systems and their technical implications.
• Utilize tools within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to enhance automation value.
• Break down solutions and resolve technical problems of basic complexity using your troubleshooting skills.
• Analyze large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to secure, stable application development decision-making.
• Apply system processes, methodologies, and skills for developing secure, stable code and systems.
• Contribute to a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 2+ years of practical experience.
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience building and leveraging scalable data platforms.
• Proven hands-on experience with AWS cloud.
• Proficiency in Python, PySpark, and an understanding of building and tuning Spark jobs to meet performance benchmarks.
• Experience with AWS technologies such as EMR, ECS, Lambdas, APIs, Redshift, S3, Athena, RDS, and Opensearch.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies including CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Experience in building data engineering pipelines and reporting tools.
• Exposure to cloud technologies.
