Job Summary

As a Software Engineer III - Big Data/Java/Scala at JPMorgan Chase, you will become an integral part of the Liquidity Risk (LRI) team. Your role involves designing and implementing the next generation cloud-native liquidity risk management platform for JPMorgan Chase. Our Liquidity Risk Technology Organization is committed to providing comprehensive solutions for managing the firm's liquidity risk and meeting regulatory reporting obligations across 50+ markets.

This role will involve the strategic buildout of advanced liquidity calculation engines, incorporating AI and ML into our liquidity risk processes, and developing digital-first reporting capabilities. The target platform will handle 40-60 million transactions and positions daily, evaluate risk for current and model-based market states, build a multi-dimensional corporate risk profile, and enable real-time analysis.

Job Responsibilities

• Develops standard software solutions, facilitating design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
• Utilizes Software Development Life Cycle tools to enhance the value delivered by automation.
• Analyzes and draws insights from large and diverse datasets to identify issues and aid decision-making in secure, stable application development.
• Applies system processes, methodologies, and skills to develop secure, stable code and systems.
• Fosters a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
• Contributes to continuous improvement of the development process and innovative solutions to meet business needs.
• Demonstrates dedication to supporting business goals through technology solutions.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 3+ years of development experience in Scala, Spark, Hadoop, AWS technologies.
• Hands-on experience with cloud technologies (AWS).
• Practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Proficient in coding in one or more languages, such as Java or Python.
• Experience throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
• Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline.
• Ability to work closely with stakeholders to define requirements.
• Collaborates with partners across feature teams to develop reusable services to meet solution requirements.

Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

• Experience working with big data solutions and the ability to analyze data to drive solutions.
• Exposure to the banking domain.
