Position Overview

Work Responsibilities

Improving ad performance through the design, development, and maintenance of Elasticsearch

Enhancing ad matching and search result relevance through the analysis and tokenization of queries using NLP

Collaborating with data scientists and other engineers to enhance the integration and performance of Elasticsearch

Unique and Bold Challenges

Launching advertising solutions on media with over 20 million MAUs

Mercari is providing advertising solutions, but is still in its early stages. It is expected to make a significant impact on the Japanese advertising market in the future.

Challenging revolutionary advertising measures that go beyond conventional frameworks

Advertising solutions are offered on many platforms, and there are numerous success stories. We can leverage the benefits of existing solutions to provide even better ones.

Required Skills

Development and operational experience with Elasticsearch

Knowledge and experience in search algorithms, relevance tuning, query optimization

Expertise in natural language processing (NLP) technologies and tools

Experience in handling data index, ETL processes, and large data sets

Preferred Skills

Experience in advertising domain or advertising platform

Experience with Elasticsearch, Solr or other OSS search engines and analytical tools

Knowledge of machine learning and data science related to search and personalization

Experience in monitoring and log analysis (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, ELK stack)

Language Requirements

Japanese: Proficient (CEFR - C1)

English: Basic (CEFR - A2) Preferred
