Mission and Responsibilities of the Team

As a Machine Learning (ML) Team Leader at Mercari Hallo, within our new business area of HR/Spot Work, you will forge strategies and coordinate to establish PoC (Proof of Concept) and an efficient ML team. Your leadership will help deliver outstanding features that delight our Mercari Hallo customers. Discover in-depth insights into our mission and values .

Key Work Responsibilities Include:

• Developing ML strategies for the Work business area.
• Establishing and leading the Work ML team.
• Collaborating with data teams and other ML teams across Mercari Group.
• Guiding projects from PoC to productization in line with business strategies.

Unique Challenges and Opportunities

Lead the initiation of the entire ML team for the HR/Spot Work domain, innovate unprecedented features, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance user engagement.

Required Qualifications

• Commitment to Mercari's mission and values.
• Proven track record as a team leader in ML organizations.
• Experience in orchestrating end-to-end machine learning solutions at scale, including proficiency in ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and libraries such as scikit-learn, NumPy, and pandas.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a solid foundation in machine learning and software engineering.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in developing ML systems using large datasets and improving system performance.
• Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
