Key Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer at WHOOP, you will:

• Design, build, and maintain the tools and infrastructure to support our Data Scientists in developing, deploying, and monitoring machine learning models.
• Maintain WHOOP’s full stack internal toolset including technologies such as VueJS, Java, and Postgres.
• Work in collaboration with the Data Science team to aid in model development, training, and monitoring.
• Play a key role in software feature ideation, planning, and development using an iterative approach.
• Implement best practices around software testing, observability, and monitoring using advanced tools like DataDog, Sentry, and Kibana.
• Effectively troubleshoot issues, leveraging logging and monitoring tools.

Qualifications for Success

You should have:

• A Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a closely related field plus 2 years’ experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years’ experience, in developing and delivering machine learning models into production.
• Proven experience in front end development using frameworks such as Vue or React.
• Skills in API design and development with programming languages including Java, C++, Rust, or Python.
• Proficiency in using SQL for relational database design and development.
• Experience in leveraging AWS Cloudwatch, DataDog, Sentry or Kibana for troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Ability to work with data science scripting languages such as Python or R.
