About The Role

The Data Foundation Team at Benefitfocus, part of Voya Financial, is looking for a seasoned Senior Data Engineer to enhance our data handling capabilities. This role involves collaborating on the development of a state-of-the-art data platform using innovative technologies.

What You Will Do:

• Design and implement critical application software and infrastructure, focusing on database design, epic, and story development.
• Work closely with a dynamic team of engineers and architects to refine application architecture and enhance software design.
• Analyze application performance and optimize to meet diverse customer needs.
• Participate in tech design reviews, code reviews, and provide estimates for the scheduling process.
• Mentor team members in advanced development techniques.
• Engage in hiring processes by evaluating potential team additions.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in software development, or equivalent experience.
• 6-8 years of professional software development experience.
• Extensive experience with PySpark, Spark SQL, and Databricks.
• Proficiency in cloud services from AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools like Jenkins Pipelines.
• Experience with Snowflake and DBT is valued.
• A strong passion for data and familiarity with various data technologies (OLTP, OLAP, ETL, ELT, etc.).

Salary Information

The expected base salary range for this role is $125,000 to $135,000 per year, depending on location, skills, and experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes bonus potential as well as long-term incentives.
