Sr. Manager-Data Architect Opportunity in Westchester, IL

Primary Function
The Sr. Manager-Data Architect will play a vital role in our enterprise by designing, creating, and managing the organization's data architecture. This position ensures that data management infrastructure is solid, efficient, and aligns with business goals. Responsibilities include designing data warehouses, databases, and file systems to ensure they are organised, accessible, and secure.
Core Responsibilities
- Implement strategic plans to enhance data integration, quality, and delivery supporting business initiatives.
- Design the architecture of data systems including databases, data warehouses, and lakes.
- Assess and recommend emerging technologies for data management, storage, and analytics.
- Select and deploy database management systems tailored to our organizational needs by defining schemas, optimizing storage, and setting access controls.
- Set and execute long-term technology strategies and innovative roadmaps spanning analytics, data engineering, and platforms.
- Establish and maintain a data strategy, framework, and reference architecture for data-driven products.
- Develop ETL processes to integrate data from various sources into the organizational data systems.
- Translate business requirements into data models and ensure high data quality standards.
- Engage senior business stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Streamline data architecture to offer reusable services and cost-saving measures per company policies.
- Lead peer reviews and quality assurance for project architecture within the EA group.
- Define and manage standards for ensuring data quality.
- Collaborate with IT, business analysts, and data teams to develop consumer-focused data solutions.
- Translate business requirements into data products specifications in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Represent data architecture on the Architecture Review Board, designing solutions for initiatives.
- Oversee data architecture and strategy for complete data lifecycle management.
- Mentor and upskill team members.
- Contribute actively to Ingredion internal forums and groups.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience architecting data solutions on major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Proven experience in designing and implementing enterprise data warehouse models.
- Experience leading data warehousing, modeling, and analysis projects.
- Deep knowledge of data architecture frameworks like TOGAF.
- Extensive experience with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data, as well as SQL and NoSQL.
- Hands-on experience with databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server) and big data/cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, Google Big Query, Databricks, AWS, Cloudera).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively to execute projects successfully.
- Strong multitasking skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven success in team-oriented environments, including multi-location teams.
- Creative and analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Previous experience in a collaborative work setting.
- Certification in data architecture or related fields is a plus.
