About the Role: Sr. Site Reliability Engineer – Loyalty & Benefits PRE

As a Sr. Site Reliability Engineer specializing in Loyalty & Benefits Product Reliability Engineering (PRE), you will be part of a diverse team spread across multiple geographies, supporting critical financial applications for clients worldwide. You will work with cutting-edge technologies like Big Data, Hive, Spark, Scala, Java, Python, Kafka, and more. This role offers a unique learning opportunity in GenAI and LLM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain stable and robust production systems for Visa's applications and services.
  • Identify and resolve second-level problems, manage security, analyze data, and respond to client queries.
  • Support high-availability continuous flow streaming services, batch services, and online systems with low turnaround times.
  • Collaborate with various service partners to ensure seamless operations.
  • Work with Client Solution, Sales teams, and business offices to onboard new clients and resolve issues.
  • Conduct proactive analysis to identify root causes and implement long-term corrective measures.
  • Participate in knowledge transfer sessions and train the team on new technologies.
  • Create and manage release, maintenance, and security patching calendars.
  • Partner with Product Development teams to provide operational and resiliency requirements.
  • Monitor processing, ensure timely delivery and availability, and support data analysis and reporting.
  • Implement audits and alerts to facilitate maintenance activities and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Manage client, data, and tech stack migrations effectively.

Position Details:

This is a hybrid position. You can alternate time between remote and office locations. Employees are expected to work from the office 2-3 days a week as directed by leadership, with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications:

Basic:

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in computer science or related field.
  • Knowledge of scripting and/or query languages.
  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux OS; Windows Server knowledge is a bonus.
  • Understanding of Big Data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Kafka, Spark).
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Kubernetes.
  • Curiosity and interest in GenAI and LLMs.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
  • Ability to support and provide solutions to real-time or near-real-time applications.
