Job Purpose

As a Solution Architect at Orange Egypt, you will spearhead the development of scalable and high-performance CVM data engineering pipelines within a Big Data environment. Your role will be crucial in supervising and contributing to the construction of an advanced computing and data storage platform essential for diverse workloads on our data lake infrastructure. You'll work alongside a talented team tackling substantial scale data and computing infrastructure challenges, focusing on automation, metadata storage, and more.

In this leaderhsip role, you will establish standards, craft architecture, and lead implementation across various systems and applications. Your expertise will promote best practices and instill a culture of technical excellence within the team. Engage in pivotal activities such as vision creation, feasibility assessment, leading architectural workshops, and high-level decision-making for CVM applications and corporate data governance.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and implement efficient data pipelines, scripts, and services.
- Evaluate and enhance existing data architectures in collaboration with technical staff.
- Lead the design and testing of technical architecture modifications.
- Develop detailed technical solution proposals and specifications.
- Pursue continual technology advancements and integrate emergent changes as needed.
- Notify stakeholders about technical issues and progress.
- Address Level 3 production issues ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Champion technical leadership focusing on quality and innovation.
- Play an integral part in team expansion and recruitment.
- Collaborate extensively with data scientists, analysts, IT team members to align project goals.
- Optimize and oversee monitoring of data system performance.
- Establish service quality and availability SLAs.
- Update stakeholders on development progress, budgets, and costs.
- Maintain documentation and track requirements for system updates.
- Ensure proper project hardware availability and functionality.
- Propose frameworks for input from various departments.
- Manage project challenges including risks, timelines, resources, and scope.

Job Essentials

Education & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering in Computer Systems or Computer Science.
- 3-5 years of hands-on software engineering experience.
- 2+ years in a leadership role within data engineering projects.
- Strong foundation in software development and IT/cloud infrastructure.
- Preferred: Experience in telecom operations and service provision.
