The Role

As a Staff Data Scientist for Linktree's Core Product Analytics team, you will be pivotal in planning, launching, and evaluating a diverse array of experiments within our core product. These experiments will allow Linktree to test essential hypotheses and uncover new opportunities for our millions of users globally.

Your key responsibility will be to design and implement innovative experiments, facilitating quick directional insights and conducting formal hypothesis tests for deep understanding. You will thrive in a lean, build-measure-learn cycle, enabling us to gain rapid and valuable insights. Working within a cross-functional team of engineers, product managers, product designers, and data scientists, you'll foster collaboration across disciplines to achieve remarkable outcomes.

You’ll use modern statistical techniques to communicate findings effectively to your teammates and mentor fellow Data Scientists, sharing best practices and driving their development. This role also includes a flexible work arrangement, with three days per week in our LA or SF office and two days working remotely.

What You'll Do

  • Design, implement, monitor, and evaluate experiments to test key hypotheses and gain valuable user insights.
  • Distil insights and share them broadly within the company to inform future product direction.
  • Build and manage vital datasets that quantify key aspects of our core product and user behavior.
  • Mentor team-members on leveraging datasets for impactful analysis.
  • Monitor key metrics and collaborate to ensure progress towards business goals.
  • Share deep expertise in data science with the team and stay updated on the latest developments.
  • Contribute to our overall data strategy to maintain competitiveness and innovation.
  • Promote best practices for data and statistics across the organization.

Who We're Looking For

  • At least 6 years of relevant Data Scientist experience in a high-growth, product-centric tech company.
  • Hands-on experience in driving a range of experiments, from quick-and-scrappy to formal hypothesis tests.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics, statistics, physics, computer science, or a related field (Master’s or PhD is a plus).
  • Proven experience using data to drive business impact.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, agile product development environment.
  • Experience using “build-measure-learn” cycles for quick deployment and iteration.

Linktree offers a competitive compensation package, with cash compensation for this role targeted at $170,000-$240,000 in the SF Bay Area or LA. Final offers depend on various factors, including candidate expertise and role scope.
