As a Data Scientist at Nextdoor, you'll lead the charge in both design and oversight of product experiments and delve into complex analyses to push company and product strategies forward. Our Data Science team is a vibrant mix of experts from varied fields like economics, psychology, and physics, creating a rich foundation for innovative problem-solving. Positioned uniquely within product teams, you will directly collaborate with product managers and engineers to enhance our platform's impact and usability.
In your role, you will focus on enhancing product-driven user retention by leveraging deeper understanding from data insights. This involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop models that elucidate user behavior, engagement, and the dynamics of user ecosystems. Your efforts will define success metrics for your team and further our mission to build trusted community connections.
Ideally, you have at least 7 years of experience in data science and product analytics, including leadership in a technical capacity. You should possess a MS or PhD in a quantitative field such as computer science, statistics, or applied mathematics and have robust experience in statistical modeling, applied statistics, and experimental design. Proficiency in SQL, Python, and common scientific computing frameworks is expected. Strong communication skills are essential, as you'll be translating complex data into actionable insights across various teams.

Additionally, this position includes a significant equity grant, with a vesting schedule that begins within your first three months.
