Position: Staff Software Systems Engineer - Machine Learning Platform

Location: Remote/Bangalore

Experience: 8 to 13 Years

Job Responsibilities

• Lead and innovate on our ML products and platforms, designing and implementing strategic machine learning solutions.
• Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, including design, testing, deployment, and operations. Lead technical discussions and hands-on reviews.
• Develop high-performance, production-ready machine learning code for next-gen ML platforms. Enhance existing ML libraries and frameworks.
• Collaborate with engineers and scientists to accelerate model development, validation, and experimentation cycles. Integrate models into large-scale production systems.
• Mentor and groom fellow engineers, set technical direction, and contribute to a strong team culture.
• Ensure technical rigor and operational excellence, building resilient and scalable systems while advocating for process improvements.

Basic Qualifications

• Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years in the complete software development lifecycle: design, coding, code reviews, testing, build processes, deployments, and operations.
• 5+ years of programming experience, preferably in Python or Java.
• 3+ years in designing and architecting large distributed systems, preferably on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Experience with distributed data and ML technologies (MapReduce, Spark, Flink, Kafka, PySpark, SageMaker, etc.).
• Proven leadership as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team leader.
• Skilled in solving complex, ambiguous problems.

Preferred Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent experience in ML.
• Experience with large-scale real-world datasets.
• Proven track record in delivering end-to-end ML solutions, including data preparation, training, fine-tuning, and deployment.
• Experience in developing ML optimization techniques with frameworks like PyTorch and CUDA.
