About Our Work in Rwanda

Aligning with the Rwanda Government's Fourth Health Sector Strategic Plan and the goal of achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC), CHAI Rwanda supports essential health system strengthening. Our focus is to enhance the quality and accessibility of healthcare services through sustainable financing and effective system reforms.

As a crucial part of our team, you will collaborate closely with the Ministry of Health and the Rwanda Social Security Board, designing and implementing strategies that bolster primary healthcare and improve overall health outcomes.

Position Overview: Technical Advisor, Data Scientist

CHAI is seeking a qualified Technical Advisor, Data Scientist to provide strategic insights and technical expertise at the Ministry of Health. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing data-driven decision-making, optimizing health strategies, and implementing a transformative health data analytics framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Strategy Development: Formulate comprehensive data governance and utilization strategies to enhance policy-making and health service delivery.
  • Data Analytics and Insights: Analyze health data to generate actionable insights, aiding in disease surveillance and resource management.
  • Capacity Building and Communication: Enhance data understanding across various stakeholders and spearhead training initiatives to build data analytics capabilities within the Ministry.
  • Collaboration and Innovation: Foster partnerships with data science communities and stakeholders to leverage expertise and introduce cutting-edge solutions in public health.

What You Will Bring

You will need a PhD or master’s degree in a relevant field, solid experience in advanced data analytics, and a proven ability to manage large datasets within the health sector.
