As the GDO Operations Manager under the leadership of the Global Data Operations (GDO), you will be responsible for steering Senior Clinical Data Managers (SCDMs) and Clinical Data Managers (CDMs) in both strategic and tactical operations within a Data Management Center (DMC). Your role includes maintaining quality processes and deliverables, managing workload, and fostering the professional development of your team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct Line Management of SCDM and CDMs
  • Escalate risks and needs to appropriate leadership as required
  • Enhance functional effectiveness by supporting departmental efforts to simplify and standardize procedures, sharing best practices, and participating or leading continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in or lead GDO Business Excellence Networks (BENs) and GDO improvement efforts
  • Facilitate and/or contribute expertise in management and functional area meetings through formal or informal presentations
  • Stay updated on process and technology changes that may impact staff
  • Support any other data management task deemed appropriate by management
  • Guide the GDO management team to set objectives and achieve business goals
  • Lead and/or participate in initiatives beyond GDO or GDMS, such as cross-divisional projects and cross-industry initiatives
  • Train staff on business processes, operations, and tools

Qualifications:

Education:

B.A. or B.S. degree, preferably in life sciences, computer science, or a related discipline.

Experience:

  • At least 3 years' experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • At least 2 years' experience in people management or equivalent demonstrated leadership

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proven ability to build talent and lead teams of 15 or more people
  • Strong project management, decision-making, problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Experience in Research & Development within the Pharmaceutical or Science Research industry
  • Preferably knowledgeable in Databases and Data Analytics
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment with flexibility
  • Advanced English proficiency
  • Proficiency with Excel
