Role Description
We are seeking a Data Engineer for our Tech team. If you are a Software/Data Engineer who specialises in Data, thrives on resolving complex issues with code, and are eager to learn new skills, we are looking for you.

You'll join the team responsible for delivering various aspects of our production-ready product while jointly designing and implementing an architecture capable of scaling alongside the product and the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will assist in building a data platform that enables other teams to autonomously access high-quality data while executing data operations to support their daily tasks.
  • You will join the data engineering team tasked with developing models, practices, and systems to support the data lifecycle.
  • You'll assist in the design and creation of all components of our growing collection of internal and external data pipelines, understand the issues, and link them to data engineering solutions
  • You will take responsibility for designing and constructing our 's
  • You’ll convert raw data from various sources (batch and near-real-time) into intuitive data models, using an array of tools (such as Spark, Hadoop, Redshift, Kafka, etc.) to establish robust, high-quality and scalable data pipelines (regarding volume and maintainability).
  • To develop features and product functions, you will be part of cross-functional squads including members from many different teams.
  • Work closely with Platform, Data Science, and Backend teams, as well as product and tech teams.
  • Fix, troubleshoot and resolve bugs and issues


Requirements

We appreciate engineers who quickly adapt to new challenges and break them down into smaller components that a highly productive team can deliver high-quality solutions for. As an Engineer, you should have a solid technical foundation and a strong focus on enhancing your development skills.

You should use best practices to deliver high-quality code and continuously expand your knowledge.

  • You have a minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a Software Developer/Data Engineer, and possess a degree in a quantitative field (CS, Engineering, Math, Physics, etc.).
  • You've built production data pipelines in the cloud, established data-lake and server-less solutions; in addition, you have hands-on experience with schema design and data modelling.
  • Proven knowledge of Python(Pandas) is essential, Java/Scala would be an advantage
  • You have robust SQL skills and are familiar with other distributed data stores such as Redis, ElasticSearch, Druid, Cassandra, Hbase.
  • You are confident working in a containerised cloud environment, and are familiar with integrating public and private APIs.
  • Strong communication skills. The ideal candidate can excel in an environment of asynchronous discourse, given that a segment of the Clarity team is based remotely.
  • Willingness to try new technologies and programming languages.
  • English fluency

The following would be advantageous, though not required:

  • Experience in a fast-growing SaaS business would be preferable.
  • Experience in the financial sector or regulated markets would be ideal.
  • Familiarity with additional technologies / frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, Jersey, Play) is a bonus
