Job Description

Job Title: Data Engineer
Reports To: Product Owner
Role Type: Individual Contribution
Location: Bangalore

Role Purpose:
Design, build, and maintain data infrastructure and systems to support SKF Aerospace's data needs. Leverage expertise in data modeling, integration, processing, storage, retrieval, and performance optimization to manage and utilize aerospace data effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop a scalable, secure, compliant Aerospace data warehouse using Snowflake technologies.
• Integrate data from source systems like ERP into Snowflake, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Optimize performance of Snowflake queries and data loading processes.
• Manage security and access controls in Snowflake, including user roles, permissions, and encryption keys.
• Maintain existing databases and warehouse solutions, addressing support needs, troubleshooting, and enhancements.

Metrics

Technical Metrics: Data quality, processing time, storage capacity, and system availability.
Business Metrics: Data-driven decision-making, ROI on data investments, data security and compliance, and cross-functional collaboration.

Competencies

• Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and Snowflake's tools and techniques.
• Expertise in SQL and optimizing SQL performance in Snowflake.
• Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools and techniques, preferably Informatica IICS.
• Good understanding of cloud computing concepts and Snowflake's infrastructure.
• Knowledgeable in data warehousing, governance, and security concepts.
• Experience in Agile solution development.
• Background in ERP systems (Infor XA, M3, SAP), data-related sales, supply chain, and manufacturing.
