Role Overview: Transformative Data Engineering

As a Data Engineer at Co-op, you will play a vital role in transforming our business operations. We are currently developing a new data platform using Databricks to enhance our capabilities in data science, analytics, and business intelligence. You will contribute significantly to this project, working collaboratively with various teams across our Food Retail, Funeralcare, and Insurance sectors. Using tools like Python and SQL, you will solve complex data challenges and optimize outcomes, helping to deliver value to our millions of colleagues, customers, and member-owners.

What You Will Do:

• Design, build, and manage enterprise data solutions on our new platform, focusing on automation and quality.
• Develop data pipelines using technologies such as PySpark and SQL.
• Assist in developing and executing our data architecture and engineering roadmap.
• Collaborate with various Co-op partners to understand and address their data needs effectively.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer with a strong portfolio in modern data architectures within multi-disciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, Data Vault Modelling, and Kimball Data Modelling.
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities with a keen interest in emerging technologies.
