About the Role

The Data Governance Leader is a critical position responsible for advancing nVent’s Data Governance program. This role will expand Master Data Management (MDM) initiatives and champion our business glossary. Collaborating across various departments, you will classify data to ensure optimal security, develop secure data handling guidelines, and create comprehensive training for data users.

Key Responsibilities

• Embed best practices for Data Governance within digital agile development teams.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Privacy, and Information Security teams for a unified data management approach.
• Build a resilient Data Governance Community of Practice to ensure data accuracy and usability across the enterprise.
• Align data governance initiatives with leadership to support their scope and goals.
• Empower data owners, stewards, and users with thorough training and role clarification in governance and regulatory compliance.
• Establish and champion data quality and master data standards, ensuring adherence across the organization.
• Incorporate protection and privacy into data governance methodologies.
• Strategically prioritize backlog tasks to align with key initiatives for impactful changes.

Qualifications

Educational Background:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Technology, Statistics, or a related field. An advanced degree is preferred.

Experience and Skills:

• At least 5+ years in a managerial role with strong leadership skills.
• Proven experience in pioneering strategic data initiatives.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with executives, business users, and vendors.
• Ability to communicate technical solutions in business terms.
• Experience in mentoring teams and conducting meaningful stakeholder sessions.
• Expertise in Master Data Management and industry best practices.
• Aptitude for bridging the gap between business and IT for data-driven processes.
• Thrives in environments where ambiguity fosters innovation.
• Experience in requirements gathering, documentation, solution architecture, design, development, and deployment.
• Capable of balancing multiple projects and adapting to shifting priorities.
• Demonstrated consulting skills and organizational change management experience.
• Self-directed with excellent initiative and organizational abilities.
