About the Role

At AIB, the Data & Analytics Centre of Excellence is instrumental in propelling our bank forward by harnessing the power of data. As a Data Science Lead, you will head our Analytics function, a hub of innovation comprised of Data Scientists, ML Engineers, Data Analysts, and more. This team drives significant business value and impacts decision-making across the group by developing AI and Machine Learning products that not only enhance our business but also ensure fair and beneficial outcomes for our customers, colleagues, and community.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience in:

• Leading and motivating a diverse team of data professionals in delivering high-impact data science projects.
• Implementing a wide range of machine learning techniques to create impactful use cases.
• Working within an MLOps framework to scale complex machine learning models.
• Applying scientific methods to solve problems and make data-driven decisions.
• Developing strategic approaches to tackle significant business challenges using advances in AI and machine learning.
• Ensuring compliance with data protection and privacy laws in all data science practices.

Required Qualifications and Skills

We expect you to have:

• An advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in Statistics, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of leadership experience in Data Science, demonstrating strong organizational and leadership capabilities.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, and statistical software like SAS.
• A proven track record of leveraging data science for business value.
• Excellent communication skills with experience influencing senior stakeholders.
