The Data department, based in Bangkok, manages all of Agoda’s data-related needs. Our goal is to elevate the use of data through creative approaches and powerful resources like operational and analytical databases, queue systems, BI tools, and data science technology. We recruit the brightest minds globally and provide them with tools and knowledge to succeed and grow while upholding a culture of diversity and experimentation. The Data team's role is crucial, supporting decision-making for business users, product managers, and engineers, while improving customer experience and protecting against fraud.
The Opportunity
Note: The position is based in Bangkok.
We seek ambitious and agile data scientists to tackle some of the world's most challenging productive machine learning and big data platforms. With 600 billion daily events and 5 billion predictions, the Data Science and Machine Learning (AI/ML) team tackles real-world challenges, including:
- Dynamic pricing
- Predicting customer intents in real-time
- Ranking search results to maximize lifetime value
- Classifying and deep learning from unstructured data
- Personalized recommendations
- Innovative algorithm-supported promotions
- Discovering insights from big data
- Revamping user experience
You'll work with one of the world's largest ML infrastructures, employing dozens of GPUs, 30,000+ CPU cores, and 150TB of memory.
In This Role, You’ll Get to:
- Design, code, experiment, and implement models and algorithms.
- Mine extensive data from millions of customers and daily events.
- Collaborate with developers and business owners for quality results.
- Research and explore new ideas and innovations.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- 4+ years of hands-on data science experience.
- Strong understanding of AI/ML/DL, Statistics, and related technologies.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, PySpark, and/or Scala.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in a multicultural environment.
It’s Great if You Have:
- PhD or MSc in Computer Science, Operations Research, Statistics, or related fields
- Experience in NLP, image processing, and/or recommendation systems
- Hands-on experience with big data frameworks like Spark/Hadoop
- Experience in data science for e-commerce and/or OTA
