We are currently seeking a skilled Data Scientist to enhance our team at the Senior Associate level and drive forward the development of cutting-edge Large Language Model (LLM) applications on Azure Cloud platforms.

Job Description & Summary

A Data Scientist at Applied Materials is instrumental in crafting scalable and secure applications utilizing the latest in Gen AI, machine learning, and deep learning technologies. This role not only requires a strong technical foundation but also a visionary mindset to anticipate and fulfill stakeholder needs proactively. Your contributions will span from strategic problem solving in a collaborative team setting to the hands-on development of AI models that revolutionize industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of advanced programming in Python/Pyspark to support data analysis, API, and Model development.
• Design and implement large-scale LLM applications on Azure, utilizing various AI and machine learning techniques.
• Drive the integration of Azure native services including Cognitive Search, Cosmos DB, and other cloud technologies.
• Champion the deployment of both containerized and serverless environments using AKS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure Functions.
• Assess and enhance the performance of current AI/ML frameworks to improve the reliability and efficiency of applications.
• Ensure robustness against security threats such as Prompt Injection Attacks through strategic LLM Ops practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5-8 years of relevant experience.
• Certifications such as Azure Data Scientist Associate (DP-100), Azure AI Engineer Associate (AI-102), and Azure Solution Architect (AZ-305) are highly regarded.
• Proven expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases, with solid proficiency in developing SQL queries.
• Advanced knowledge and practical application of machine learning algorithms including classifiers, cluster analysis, and more.
