About the Role

This role offers remote work opportunities and can be located almost anywhere in the U.S. As part of the Data Science & Analytics Team, the Expert Data Scientist will work with cutting-edge technologies to create scalable data products and solutions for both our U.S. and global markets. Responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders to identify business requirements, creatively leveraging Acxiom’s internal and client data sources, building models, analyzing and visualizing results, reviewing compliance needs, and integrating solutions into innovative data products. This position will champion the latest Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence technology stack, focusing on state-of-the-art machine learning models in the healthcare sector.

Key Responsibilities

Modeling

  • Combine healthcare data, domain expertise, and machine learning knowledge to develop high-performance predictive models.
  • Validate and deliver healthcare data products or enhancements.
  • Apply advanced algorithms to improve the performance and quality of existing health-related data products.

Product Development, Operationalization, and Measurement

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to define project requirements, including data sources and algorithms.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand business goals and identify relevant KPIs for product performance assessment.
  • Assist engineering and platform teams to ensure proper data delivery and presentation.
  • Propose product and process improvements, including automation.
  • Partner with agencies to develop closed-loop measurement solutions.

Quality Assessment and Governance

  • Monitor model performance and adjust models as required.
  • Perform analysis, maintenance, and upgrades of existing models and data products.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other data governance laws.
  • Maintain and enhance robust QA processes and controls for data governance.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field such as Applied Mathematics, Applied Statistics, or Computer Science, or equivalent experience (8-10 years).
  • 6+ years of experience in the healthcare domain, including working with healthcare data assets.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with large, diverse datasets.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of explaining complex AI and Machine Learning concepts to varied audiences.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as R, Python, Scala, or Spark/pyspark.
  • 7+ years’ experience in building and deploying ML models.
  • 5+ years’ experience in building ETL transformations and data pipelines.
  • Experience with Big Data or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google AI/ML Platform, Snowflake, Databricks).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of Deep Learning and Neural Network modeling frameworks.
  • Experience with container-based model deployment (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Master’s Degree in a related field such as Statistics, Data Science, or Engineering.
  • Experience in advanced analytics techniques, especially in consulting or healthcare settings.
  • Proficiency with tools like Airflow and KubeFlow for model deployment.
  • Experience with H2O or similar machine learning platforms.
