Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be at the heart of the fast-paced ESG Integration work at one of Europe’s largest investment managers. This crucial role incorporates Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) data into operating models to support investment decisions, risk assessments, and policy development, enabling thorough client reporting.

The growing volume of ESG data is essential across our business. It is now vital to integrate this data into monitoring, trading, order management, and reporting systems to fully understand risks and opportunities for a broad array of ESG-tilted and non-ESG funds.

This multifaceted role involves leading a small team of ESG Data Scientists/Analysts and collaborating closely with the ESG Product Owner and other key stakeholders to devise solutions for achieving ambitious organizational priorities.

What You'll Be Doing

• Progressing the automation of ESG data production, self-service access, and analysis, and systematic integration into other LGIM systems.
• Developing and maintaining an understanding of ESG regulations such as SFDR, TCFD, UK SDR, and ISSB along with client reporting requirements.
• Identifying solutions for the consistent integration of ESG into the full investment product lifecycle through active engagement with internal business and technology stakeholders.
• Relentlessly improving data quality and transparency to enhance internal trust in ESG data.
• Ensuring the rapid and high-quality delivery of new ESG data requirements.
• Devising innovative approaches for advanced ESG data analytics and insights.
• Managing the delivery process by conducting stand-ups, planning, and review meetings.
• Ensuring up-to-date data-related documentation.
• Fostering a team culture of continuous improvement, learning, and innovation.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with:

• Familiarity with ESG metrics and data providers such as Sustainalytics, Bloomberg, ISS, and MSCI.
• Significant experience in building robust data-oriented solutions in Python, including web apps.
• Experience with modern data tools such as Tableau, Jupyter Notebooks, Pandas, and Python visualization libraries.
• Exposure to machine learning approaches including neural networks, NLP, and generative AI is desirable.
• Experience working within an investment management company.
• Experience managing Agile delivery, preferably Kanban and Scrum.
• Strong communication skills across business and technical stakeholders of various seniority levels, both verbally and in writing.
• Leadership skills with a desire to mentor team members.
• A real passion for ESG and sustainable investing with a drive for excellent service and commercial focus.
